Men's Event Weekends

Buddhism offers us a radical and distinctive approach to life, and it's teachings are both challenging and inspiring. These popular short retreats are an excellent opportunity to discover different aspects of Buddhist thought and practice and these lively events include a programme of Dharma talks, discussion, meditation and ritual, as well as time to enjoy the gentle Norfolk countryside.

Open to men with experience of FWBO Meditation.

Men’s Event 2: Great Doubt, Great Faith, Great Awakening

GREAT DOUBT, GREAT FAITH, GREAT WISDOM What is doubt? What is faith? What is the relationship between the two? And how can wisdom arise out of doubt and faith?

This weekend will explore the doubts that arise in spiritual life and show how such experiences can be transformed into faith and ultimately wisdom. We will examine the themes of faith, doubt and wisdom in the lives of two great historical Buddhists, Shinran and Hakuin.

There will be two major talks by Ratnaguna and Padmavajra, themselves inspirational teachers within the WBO, as well as periods of reflection, meditation, discussion and puja to help us examine these important themes in our own lives.
