Transforming People's Lives in India
On the Bodhisattva Ideal retreat which ended yesterday, we were treated to a talk by Dhammachari Amoghasiddhi, an Indian Public Preceptor and Ordination Team member from Nagpur.
In the talk he spoke about the Bodhisattva Ideal in India. He vividly demonstrated how the Dhamma can radically transform people's lives, liberating them from a hellish existence. Using the examples of his own life, as well as the lives of Bhante Sangharakshita and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, he illustrated how if we are to live a meaningful life, we mustn't turn away from the suffering of others.
At the end of the retreat there was also a very successful fundraiser for the India Dhamma Trust who help fund men's and women's Ordination Training in India. Do consider setting up a regular payment with the India Dhamma Trust to help support the vital Dhamma work that the Ordination Teams do. Without our help they wouldn't be able to support the large number of mitras training for Ordination.
