The practice of contemplating and interacting with an embodiment of the qualities of Awakening (‘sadhana’ for short!) is a meditation method that, deeply understood, can bring about the total transformation of our body/mind.
It includes all aspects of our system of practice. It integrates our energy and leads to states of absorption. It opens our heart and encourages the unfolding of great love and compassion. It takes us in imagination through a dramatized enactment of the nature of reality, showing us the nature of all our experience. It enables us to unfold our potential, to become endowed with the qualities of the figures that we contemplate. And it culminates in just sitting, in which we can discover new freedom, beyond our usual limited ways of experiencing.
During this week, which is open to practitioners of all sadhanas, we shall explore how to make our sadhana practice more effective as a method of transformation, including examining ways in which we prevent the sadhana from having its full impact.
The retreat will be mostly in silence, with teaching, guided meditations and pujas. It will start with dinner on the first day at 6:30pm and finish on the final day at 10.00am.
