The Bodhisattva Ideal

Friday, 10 January 2020 to Sunday, 19 January 2020

Sangharakshita has likened the Triratna Buddhist Order to, and even identified it with, the eleven-headed and thousand-armed Avalokitesvara, the Bodhisattva of compassion. He says of that identification that it is ‘Not just a manner of speaking, it’s not just a figure of speech. We should take it very seriously, even take it literally’.

This retreat will explore the Bodhisattva Ideal and how it can be ever more fully and deeply lived out in our Order and community. The study material will be a series of talks given by Subhuti on this retreat in 2018.

The retreat starts with dinner on the first day at 6:30pm and finishes on the final day at 10.00am.

Please note: this retreat will be run on a dana basis. Once you have paid the £70 deposit, the remainder of the cost will be up to you to pay via donation on the Padmaloka website, if you are able to afford any more.
