Online Live Steamed Weekend for men who have asked for ordination and Order members.
Ordination Training Weekends have been a regular feature of the ordination process based at Padmaloka since the late nineteen eighties. The purpose of these weekends is to give men who have asked for ordination the opportunity to come together with one another and the ordination team to explore the essentials of what it means to Go for Refuge to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in a short but intensive weekend.
On this weekend we will be exploring the symbols and significance of the Guru and the Dakini to our Dharma lives. What can these vivid and vital images tell us about how to Go for Refuge more deeply and thoroughly. The weekend will include a live-streamed talk by Padmavajra and online discussion groups. You will also be able to join us for morning and afternoon meditations and pujas.
All events will be live-streamed from either the Padmaloka shrineroom or held in online Zoom groups.
On the Friday evening ther will be an introduction, dedication ceremony and Puja starting at 8pm.
On Saturday the programme will be as follows:
• 7.00 Double meditation
• 10.30 Talk
• 11.30 Tea break
• 11.45-13.00 Study Groups
• 16.30 Meditation
• 20.00 Sevenfold puja and meditation
On Sunday the programme will be as follows:
• 7.00 Double meditation
• 10.30-13.00 Study Groups and Closing Ritual
For each event it is best to arrive at least 5 minutes early, for study groups we will start 10 minutes early to set up the groups and to resolve any technical difficulties which may occur.
Preparing for the Seminar
To get the most out of the study seminar we recommend that as far as possible you create retreat-like conditions at home. This might include reducing input, maintaining a daily meditation practice, and taking time to reflect and absorb the meditation and study sessions.
Giving a Donation
These events are run on a donation basis.
Your donation is an opportunity to be a part of the culture of generosity that sits at the heart of Padmaloka, to help keep that heart alive and thriving, and to contribute towards the short and long term ability of Padmaloka to be able to keep on giving that most precious and essential gift of the Dharma to as many men as possible.
We ask that you give what you can based on your current financial circumstances.
If your financial circumstances are healthy, then we would invite you to give generously, but if not, don't let money be an obstacle - what we want most is for men to be able to participate in these events and continue their training in Ordination and the Dharma life.
