I'm afraid to announce that the residential component of the Winter Retreat has had to close this year.
With many places in England now going into a tier 3 lockdown attendance has dropped to a level that has made it infeasible to run the retreat properly.
The online aspect, running in the first week, will continue to run; with three talks by Padmavajra on the Diamond Sutra, meditation instruction from Satyaraja and puja in the evenings, so do consider joining us for this.
If you are booked on the retreat and haven't heard from us yet then do get in touch.
'Thus should we think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.'
The Winter Retreat, marking the changes as one year comes to an end and another begins, comes at an auspicious time to go on retreat; a time of transformation and new possibilities.
This year's Winter retreat is an intensive meditation retreat, led by Satyaraja and the Ordination team, with short talks on the Diamond Sutra by Padmavajra. There will be plenty of meditation, focusing on the just sitting practice, with full instruction, sutra reading, silence and puja as well as individual meditation reviews.
Please contact the Guest Master (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you haven’t been on an intensive meditation retreat before.
The retreat starts with dinner on the first day at 6:30pm and finishes on the final day at 10.00am.
Health and Hygiene
It is vital that you don't come on retreat if you have any symptoms of Covid-19, including a cough, loss or change of smell or taste, a temperature, or any other cold or flu-like symptoms; or if you have been in contact with anyone who has within the past 14 days.
We will be observing strict hygiene and social distancing protocols during the retreat, details of which you can find in our risk assessment here: http://bit.ly/PadmalokaRAx
In coming on retreat you also agree to observe measures laid out in our coming on retreat page here: https://padmaloka.org.uk/coming-retreat
As well as contained within the 'Essential Guide to Being at Padmaloka during Covid', which can be found here: http://bit.ly/PadmalokaEGx
We will be taking every measure we can to prevent the spreading of Covid-19 during retreats, but despite this, there will still remain a risk to those who attend; please consider this when coming on retreat.
If you are unable to attend the retreat due to illness or local lockdown measures then your booking can be transferred to the online aspect of the retreat, or to a future retreat.
Bookings are now full for this retreat, if you would like to be added to the waiting list then please contact the Guestmaster on email@example.com
