For many people in the movement Padmaloka is their spiritual home, a place where they can return to to be spiritually revitalized, rested and re-inspired. Ideally it is like a pure land, with conditions that are entirely conducive to the practice of the Dharma. Unlike a pure land though, the buildings and infrastructures of Padmaloka are prey to the demon of impermanence, and to maintain them is a big job, a lot more than our maintenance man, Akashaja can handle by himself!
This year, alongside our Friends and Guest week, we are hosting a decorating week where you can come and join the Support Team for a week and help us to repaint some of the walls and doors around Padmaloka.
We're looking for men with experience in painting and decorating, whether that is professionally or not; Akashaja, our maintenance man, will be giving some instruction but it will be fairly minimal.
If you don't have any decorating experience but would still like to come on the week then do get still get in touch.
Details and Timings
The retreat starts with dinner on the first day at 6:30pm and finishes on the final day at 10.00am.
The programme won't be like a retreat, you'll be joining the routine of the Support team which includes morning meditation, work during the day and some evening activities. It is a great way to experience a different side of Padmaloka and to get to know the Support team better, as well as build friendships with one another.
