Young Men's Weekend

Milarepa: The Mountain Yogi
Friday, 15 December 2023 to Sunday, 17 December 2023

Having resolved to gain Enlightenment in a single lifetime for fear of the hells that he would fall into otherwise, Milarepa goes forth entirely from his old life to live in caves of Tibet in pursuit of unconstrained freedom. Eventually he comes out on the other side: enlightened, full of joy and utterly free. From that moment onwards, he expresses his joy through song – songs about the beauty of nature, friendship, and freedom. On this Young Men's Weekend, we will be looking at Milarepa’s life, his teachings and what they mean for us.

We’ll do that with the guidance of Manjuvajra. He is one of those people one can wholeheartedly look up to. He gave his entirely life to Buddhism. He helped building the LBC and established Triratna in the USA. For the past few years, he has been living like a modern-day Milarepa in an isolated retreat centre in the mountains of Spain.

On this weekend retreat we will practise in the spirit of Milarepa, challenging ourselves to be entirely wholehearted on the path to Enlightenment. Join us if you're 35 or younger.
