It is like a bird that leaves the bushes of the scrubland and flies to the fruit trees of the forest. I too have left the bleary half-light of opinions; like a swan I have reached a great lake.
Sutta Nipata
Join us for this weekend exploring Pingiya's praises of the Buddha in the Sutta Nipata, one of the most ancient Buddhist scriptures. We will be evoking the Buddha as representing 'a universe of wisdom and a world of understanding', as Pingiya describes him, and exploring how to journey, step by step, along the way to the beyond. There will be opportunities to explore the theme together, reflecting on how it can transform our everyday life, as well as deepening our experience through meditation, ceremony and connection.

Coming on a retreat at Padmaloka is a step into another way of being, where we temporarily take up a way of life that is more supportive of Buddhist Practice. We go forth from our ordinary circumstances, our comforts and distractions so that we can discern and move towards our ideals and help others to do so as well.
When booking a retreat at Padmaloka it is important to get a sense of how you will be living here - what our customs, etiquettes and requirements for being on retreat are.
