Life and Liberation
Teachings from the Lotus Born
Upon seeing the figure of Padmasambhava, Bhante became conscious of a spiritual presence that had been with him all the time - infinitely mysterious, infinitely wonderful, infinitely inspiring - and it is this figure who we will evoke during this silent, meditation retreat. With readings from The Life and Liberation, pujas dedicated to the Guru, meditation (including the Six Element Practice) and nearly two weeks of silence we will enter the spiritually transformative realm of Padmasambhava. Led by Vidyadaka and Friends
This is the pinnacle of our retreat calendar, a special intensive meditation retreat that offers a unique opportunity to enter into deep stillness at a potent time of year. All meditation practices will be fully introduced alongside a strong emphasis on puja, devotion, and sutra recitation. As well as extensive shrine room practice, there will be plenty of time for reflection with the support of periods of silence and regular one-to-one meditation reviews.

Coming on a retreat at Padmaloka is a step into another way of being, where we temporarily take up a way of life that is more supportive of Buddhist Practice. We go forth from our ordinary circumstances, our comforts and distractions so that we can discern and move towards our ideals and help others to do so as well. When booking a retreat at Padmaloka it is important to get a sense of how you will be living here - what our customs, etiquettes and requirements for being on retreat are.
